Adult Classes
The studio offers 6 week classes for people to learn how to make their own ceramics items, or to get better at a specific aspect of pottery. I will show you how to throw on a pottery wheel, turn your pots and how to glaze. So you are in control of the hole making process. You will be able to glaze 6 pieces you have made, and the cost of the class is £170.
You will need to bring an apron (or old button up shirt) and an old hand towel. If you have some pottery tools feel free to bring them but make sure they are named. Also please bring a face mask with you, hand sanitiser will be provides.
Children Classes
We offer children classes in the studio. One adult and one child classes, where you and your child will learn how to make pottery together, and have a object that could last forever and a beautiful experience that you shared with each other.
Overview of the class; a pinch pot is the first thing you will both be making, then you will be shown how to turn this pot into something else, robot, pig, cup the list goes on. Older children will then make a coil pot. I will show you how to role out coils of clay and start building. Younger children will cut out shapes and patterns and press them in to a bowl or cup mould. There should be time to paint the first pot, but both pots will be fired and you will be able to collect at a later date.
One-to-one/ Private events
This is an introduction class in pottery. Something new you can try your hand at, it is a great way to disconnect from your thoughts and focus your intention on the sense of touch whilst clay is moving through your fingertips. I will demo how to use the potter’s wheel and show you all the steps to make your pots, I normally show students how to make a cylinder, so we have the option to make a mug, vase, and flowerpot. But, if you have a simple idea in mind, I can show you how to make it. This is a great activity to do by yourself, or with friends and family.
The class is two and a half hours long and costs £85 for one person. Also, you will get to keep three pots you have made, which will be glazed in a colour you choose. Then I will contact you and arrange collection, It takes 5/6 weeks to get your pieces through the firings and glazing. If you are interested please contact me.
